Dr. Giovanis graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Microbiology. She then went on to work as a research scientist before entering the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
Dr. Giovanis completed her internship at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine. She then completed the Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine / Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in Bronx, New York, a program known for its rigorous training in Osteopathic Medicine for newborns, children, and adults.
Since completing her residency in 2010, Dr. Giovanis has focused on Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, while working in private practice, supervising residents and students at St Barnabas Hospital as an Associate Residency Program Director, and currently teaching as an Associate Professor at TOURO College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She continues to study with leading osteopathic physicians in the country, and takes advanced training courses in osteopathy, occupational medicine, sports, pain medicine and injection therapies. She mentors students and residents, and she lectures on osteopathy to the community.
